we played at the pilot light in knoxville last weekend.
we drove through ice and wind and fog and police chases to get there.
it was worth it.
bad animal is the best band in the southeast. sorry, other bands.

best worst week ever
we played 2 shows at new french bar last week. one on tuesday the 6th and one on saturday the 10th.
videohippos were supposed to play the 6th, but they had to cancel because of some sick-ness.
the show went on, but afterwards drama ensued & that probably made it the worst show ever.
on the 10th, devin recorded future islands' song for the future islands/ear pwr split 7"
tron valdez cancelled that night, so to fill the void we played a short set with woman (knoxville), future islands (greenville/ asheville/baltimore) and vandertramp (asheville)
and although it was if-y at first, it turned into one of the craziest nights ever...

halloween-ie and other thing-ies
the halloween party at the milestone was pretty rad.
we'll have more pictures when i get my "ghost hunting" camera back and have the film developed.

the werehouse/ dance party
we played a last minute show at the werehouse friday night.
at one point these kids started doing some synchronized dance. i don't think it was the electric slide, but kindof similar. i tried to capture the phenomenon but these pics don't do it justice.

anyway, dumbledore was gay and now i know why i loved him so much.

jk rowling: My truthful answer to you... I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. [ovation.] ... Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was. To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extend, but he met someone as brilliant as he was, and rather like Bellatrix he was very drawn to this brilliant person, and horribly, terribly let down by him. Yeah, that's how i always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying I knew a girl once, whose hair... [laughter]. I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, "Dumbledore's gay!" [laughter] If I'd known it would make you so happy, I would have announced it years ago!

we had to postpone our new york show (again) due to a recent cop invasion fiasco raid at "space space."
as luck would have it, i bumped into andy this morning and he asked if we wanted to play a short set at the werehouse this friday night. and of course, i said "sure"

we were so excited to finally see our record. it is so beautiful.

even if there's something way bigger and better happening somewhere else.
